Emily Soper, M.S., C.G.C.
Senior Genetic Counselor
M.S. in Genetic Counseling from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She is involved in a broad effort to improve genomic knowledge and integrate genomic medicine practice across the Mount Sinai Healthcare System. This includes the return of medically actionable results to participants of Mount Sinai’s BioMe Biobank through the Center for Genomic Health. Ms. Soper’s primary research focus is understanding the medical and psychosocial impact of returning genomic results to patients and their families. She is also interested in how genomic findings can be paired with clinical data to more fully elucidate our understanding of genetic disorders in diverse populations.
With over 10 years of prior experience providing genetic counseling to individuals with cancer and their families, Ms. Soper is dedicated to helping patients from diverse backgrounds understand their personal genomic disease risk to optimize health.
